Help future Pagan musicians learn

I’m inviting Pagan musicians and Pagan bands to participate in my music education project inside Alexian’s Learning Grove at AlexianMusic.com.

The idea is simple: your songs may become real-world teaching examples for students learning piano, voice, music theory, songwriting, lyric writing, ear training, arranging, and more!

If your music is selected, I may create piano/vocal arrangements, lead sheets, theory examples, ear training exercises, songwriting analysis, worksheets, and course videos using your songs.

Your music will only be used inside enrolled student course materials after you complete a simple participation agreement.

What this is

Share Your Songs with the Learning Grove is an invitation for Pagan artists to let their music become part of a living educational library.

Rather than teaching only from my own songs or generic exercises, I want students to learn from real songs created by other real Pagan musicians too. That gives the lessons more heart, more relevance, and more connection to the community.

This is not a public cover project, streaming release, or royalty arrangement. It is an educational-use permission project for Alexian’s Learning Grove courses.

What I’m asking for

I’m looking for Pagan musicians and Pagan bands who are willing to submit 3+ songs (1 Up-tempo, 1 slow-tempo, 1 medium-tempo) or more for possible educational use.

Not every song submitted will necessarily be used. Some songs may be better suited for music theory lessons, some for ear training, some for songwriting analysis, some for piano/vocal arranging, and some may not be the right fit for the current courses.

Completing the interest form below simply starts the conversation.

What participating artists receive

Participating artists receive:

  • Artist credit wherever their song is used in the course materials

  • Live URL Links back to their preferred website, music page, store, Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube, or other promo page on all web pages where their song is used and printed on any downloadable file.

  • A chance to help future Pagan musicians learn through real Pagan music

  • This means your music will be introduced directly to music students who are already interested in Pagan music, Pagan spirituality, chanting, songwriting, ritual music, and creative expression.

There is no fee for participating, and there is no payment being exchanged. This is a mutual-support project: you allow your songs to be used for limited educational purposes, and I promote your music to students through proper credit and direct links.

This is also a beautiful way to help preserve and strengthen Pagan music as a teaching tradition.

What materials I need

The more materials you already have, the easier it will be to evaluate and adapt your songs for teaching.

Useful materials (in order of preference) may include:

  • File Export formats: MusicXML (.musicxml, .xml, .mxl) and MIDI (.mid).
If your songs were created in MuseScore, Finale, Sibelius, or another notation program, please export them as MusicXML and/or MIDI before sending.  If the export does not include the midi for the melody, you'll still need to provide at least a Lead Sheet with the written out melody.

  • Full piano/vocal arrangements
  • Sheet music PDFs
  • Lead sheets with written out melody, lyrics, and chords

  • Lyrics with chord symbols

  • Chord charts

  • Audio recordings

PLUS:  Notes about the song’s meaning, structure, inspiration, or magickal purpose.

You can send any or all of the above materials.

If you do not already have File Exports, Full Arrangements or Lead Sheets, that does not automatically disqualify you. In some cases, I may be able to create educational arrangements from your recordings, lyrics, and chords.

How the songs may be used

Songs may be used as teaching material inside Alexian’s Learning Grove courses, including examples for:

  • Piano and Voice lessons

  • Music Theory

  • Songwriting

  • Ear training

  • Chord Progressions

  • Melody Writing

  • Rhythm and Meter

  • Form and Structure

  • Arranging

  • Worksheets and Student Exercises

  • Course Videos and Downloadable Learning Materials

The goal is education. Your songs would be used to help students understand how music works and how Pagan music can be studied, performed, arranged, and created with skill and intention.

What happens after you sign up

After you submit the form:

  1. I’ll review your information.

  2. If the project looks like a good fit, I’ll contact you with next steps.

  3. We’ll discuss which songs you may want to submit.

  4. We’ll confirm what materials you can provide.

  5. I’ll send a simple participation agreement before any songs are used.

  6. Once permissions are complete, selected songs may be adapted for use in enrolled student course materials.

Completing the form does not guarantee that your songs will be used. It simply lets me know you are interested and open to the conversation.

A note from Alexian

For more than three decades, I’ve taught music privately and professionally. I’m also a Pagan recording artist and Alexandrian High Priest, so this project sits right at the heart of my life’s work: music, Magick, teaching, and community.

My hope is that this becomes a beautiful way to help Pagan students learn music while also helping them discover more Pagan artists.

Your songs could become part of someone’s first steps into singing, piano, songwriting, music theory, or sacred musical expression.

Thank you for considering sharing your music with the Grove.
